We have A 2002 Yukon with cassette player. It has no xm or aux input so have been looking for an adapter to play iPod rather than CDs . All cassette adapters we tried kept ejecting (the broken tape feature) the fm adapters sucked. Finally found iessentials audio cassette adapter @ oreillys and it works! I know,I'm a dinosaur for just not wanting to change out the HU but this is simplest solution I found to play my daughter's iPod with decent quality. Well, the quality improved dramatically after I found my old cassette tape cleaner (Allsop...remember them?)
apologies if this is a known solution...after going through 8 pages from a forum search I figured this might be helpful info to other lazy dinosaurs.

No Bose. Stock acdelco unit with single cd and a cassette player at the bottom. My daughter was really happy listening to whatever radio Disney thing she has on her little iPod. Nothing like seeing your little girl smile. We'll worth $10. Granted, not as high fidelity as a cd, but way better than one of those fm transmitter units.

Well, this is what I got from Scottyboy on here a few years back and it works awesome compared to the FM modulator that my truck came with, but I have Bose so not sure if it would work for you! Looking at the specs on it it doesn't say anything about Bose or no bose so not sure if you could adapt it to your situation!

Actually the Sonic Electronix site does say it works with the cassette player so you might be in business! Check both links out!

Looks like it can be found all day for around $30 on Ebay with free shipping! Trust me, you will love it way more than the adapter, still might have to run a fake tape in the cassette player to make it work but your ipod should sound like a CD playing.

Nice thing about this setup is that it has 2 rca plugs so you could also hook up a DVD player/tv combo and have the same quality sound with the flick of the switch!

Ooh thanks for reminding me of that. IIRC it requires HU removal to access the connectors so thats why i didn't do it. No doubt sound qualkty would be awesome.
