On the 2015's the Auto Memory Recall was triggered by the RKE (fob) unlock button and door opening combination. On the 2016 they changed it so that Auto Memory Recall is triggered by ignition on.

I realize that for some that use the Exit Options, the recall based on the fob made the exit option useless as it would move the seat back to driving position from exit position before you entered the car. However, for those that don't use the Exit option, this was the preferred method.

My wife sits extremely close to the steering wheel, to the point I cannot get into the drivers seat to activate the ignition switch on the 2016. Therefore, I must open the door and manually press the seat position button and wait for the movement to conclude.

Is anyone aware of an option to change from an ignition switch trigger to the fob trigger? It seems like such an easy programming issue, it frustrates me that GM didn't simply include it to make both options available and please all customers.

Thoughts?

This is a good point. They should've. I also come from the early days of memory seats where the use of easy exit with a 200lb person eventually would ruin the actuators and make the seat noisy and clunk.

Has anyone else experienced this? According to dealer, there isn't anything you can do. It is simple coding though. In my BMW, I can code anything. Is there anyway to change the coding in these yukons?

Okay, glad I am not the only one.

I have the same problem, wife is too short, so I have to stand there and HOLD THE BUTTON.

the more I interact with the 2016 interior, the more I realize the interior design team was idiots.

we did test it today, if I remote start the car & unlock the doors, and she puts her key in, it will recognize her as the driver..

for now, I just hand her my keys to put in the switch, and that moves the seat back from "fetal" position to accessible.

we have the push button start and I'm wondering about how to get the seat to move as well. Display says it recognizes driver 2 (me) but it doesn't move the seat to the setting I have stored. I have to press and hold the 2 button on the door. Is there a menu option I have to change to make this work automatically?

I found the menu setting once I took the time to sit down and take a look through the settings.
