I got some 3" 10x24 threaded rod at Home Depot. There's one per pack and are only like $.49 a piece.

Mark. are you saying that if I replace the links that I can lower the back of my Tahoe LTZ without doing anything else? If thats the case, would you happen to know where I can buy shorter links?
Thanks
Yes to a certain extent, until the springs and/or shocks stop it from going lower. To find out approximately how much your (autoride) air shocks are jacking it up, just remove one of the air lines and let the air out of the system. You just pull the metal clip and pop the fitting off. Keep in mind no matter how short the links, it will still air up a bit, maybe 1/2". You can get shock extenders too for around $40-$50, they mount the shocks so they allow it to go a bit lower. As far as shorter links, you can either use all thread or just buy bolts and cut the heads off. The size is #10 x 24 and start with 3" length, shorten as necessary.

Thanks again. I'm trying to understand this. The link ends look like the strut ends on the hood and rear hatch, right? Do you pry them out in the same way as the struts? Then unscrew the ends? Cut to desired length and reinstall?

Yes, they're the black plastic sockets that pop onto round metal balls. Ball and sockets like the hatch struts but without the metal keepers. They just pop off, use a small prybar. Sometimes it bends the metal tab that the ball is mounted to but you can just bend it back. And yes , unscrew the ends and reinstall on the new rods.
