Auto ride

I was informed by the previous owner of my 02 Yukon Denali that the auto ride doesn't work. Would it be as easy as cranking the torsion bars and replacing the rear shock to get a lift or is there more work to be done?

The most likely culprit is either the compressor has died or the shocks have worn out and have holes. You can easily replace them with parts from https://www.arnottindustries.com/

Autoride doesn`t lift the truck, It has sensors that fill the air shocks returning the ride to level when you have a load in the back. There are no air bags up front so there is no lifting going on up there. You can also replace all four shocks with regular gas shocks if you want to eliminate autoride, I used billstein 5100`s after my air compressor died for the second time and i just wanted it gone.

If you haul a lot of weight you can either replace your rear coil springs with Z71 springs or get helper air bags that install inside the coils.

That's what I want, I want the auto ride completely removed

Then it`s a simple as replacing the shocks. You can get resistors to make the service ride control message on the DIC go away but i just hit the button on the steering wheel to make it go away.

Would I just buy regular Yukon shocks?

You can but i imagine you would have to get them from a dealer and no doubt they`ll be expensive but you can use any shock you want, Just get shocks for a non autoride yukon.
