Auto ride front strut replacement question

I want to replace the front struts on my Denali. I know I have the Autoride system and I would like to stay with that. Where's the best place to get the best prices for the front shocks? From what I gathered I can only do OEM only unless I want to convert to something like the Arnott system ????

You're right, that's pretty much your only two options. There are other replacements like Suncore, but pricing is the same as just getting AC Delco.

I did some research and found out a company called BWI is the maker of the magnetic shocks. They have a facility here in Ohio too. I sent them an email to see if they sell these direct or not. I sure hope they do. They were being sold on Ebay for a while for only $180 for a complete strut assembly!!!!

i just replaced all of my shocks on my 08 with ac delco's from amazon. They were $200 a piece, but if you do the front ones you will want to pay a local shop to take the shock out of the strut and put the new ones in. Local guy charged me $40 for both fronts.

What mileage did you have on yours and was it handling better after? I am hoping I could replace the whole thing from bmi as an assembly but if not, Amazon is going to be the next pick

i had 103K miles. Both fronts were leaking oil and the rears had blown some time ago. Compressor was wasted. Rides like a cadillac now :). I wouldnt be too put off by changing just the shocks. Getting the struts out is really easy its just that most tool places will rent you a spring compressor that is very dangerous for those springs. I tried it and couldnt get it to work so went to a proffesional to have them changed.

We need to change the front struts on our 2007 Yukon with the "air ride". Anyone know were I can get the shocks from?

If anyone is looking I have a brand new set of Arnott front struts I bought for my 07 Escalade with autoride because shop told me I needed them and come to find out I really didn't so they are just sitting in box. Arnott SK-2671

Sorry I tried to list in classifieds but don't have enough postings
