Hi all, I'm new here and am looking for a bit of insight on the Autoride system equipped to my 2004 Yukon XL Denali.
Recently, I got the "service ride control" message and had the problem scanned out to be the exhaust valve. I took off the compressor and found 1 of the wires to the exhaust valve had corroded. I soldered in new wire segments, put it back together, and reinstalled it on the truck.
The good news: the compressor now kicks in for a few seconds on startup and I have no "service ride control" message.
The bad news (& part I don't understand): The rear air shocks have no pressure; However, the compressor only turns on with every key cycle. :shakehead:
I plan to replace the shocks (they look worn and I already have a new pair), but i'm wondering if something else is wrong with the system since it doesn't try to inflate the shocks when driving.
I think it has a new Arnott compressor, since it has a label saying "tested: 9/31/2013". I'm assuming the previous owner changed it just before I bought it in December.

To sum-up, the main problem is the system doesn't try to inflate the rear suspension. I've read about an ALC Trimset recalibration and i'm wondering if that would fix the problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You gotta search...plenty of threads about this topic. Check for lose air lines to the shocks or the shocks may be torn and not holding air. Use some soapy water and look for leaks. Also check the air line leaving the compressor to make sure its on tight and not leaking.....

I've done a bit of searching, but I plan to do more. I think the shocks are leaking, but would the compressor know that and not try to inflate them? I know my dad's escalade had blown shocks and it burnt the compressor up by constantly trying to inflate them.

Good point. My old compressor would kick on a few times throughout a small trip even to like the store or something because I had a leaky shock. Did you also try to load up the rear with stuff or people and see if it kicks in? These autoride systems are a PITA. I'm already replaced my rear shocks along with a new compressor. That one had a faulty exhaust valve solenoid shortly after a year. Got a second one discounted and all has been good for now.....

Haven't had the chance to load up the back yet. I was planning on that being the next test of the system. I'm just baffled on why the level sensors are not indicating that the rear is low with no air in the shocks.
