AWD vs 4wd - confused

I bought my 2011 new. I have had to buy new tires every 75k miles. The tires get ribbed or wavy. Starts riding real bad with bad vibrations. I had two different dealers check it. Everything was fine. They said it was the AWD?????? It now has 85k miles and is ready for its 4th set of tires.

May I suggest some non-Michelin tires? Haha

I don't remember what they are to be honest. But I think they are Michelin. I just kept buying the same brand/tire it came with. Are they not good tires?

Michelin are actually said to be a very good tire!

That makes sense. Michelins I think are probably pretty affordable so the car companies throw them on. My mom bought a new car last year and it came with some Michelins and after less than 25k miles she needed a new set badly! Now she has another brand (might be Cooper) on it and she's probably got 30k miles on them so far and they're holding up a lot better. My point is the stock tires are usually cheap, low-ply, light load capacity tires to make the car more affordable obviously. So its good to try something else.

You can flat tow an AWD Denali, but you need 2 driveline disconnects, once they are free, you can flat tow all you want.

I change out A LOT of michelins at work, AWD, FWD, and RWD. The only ones that have cupped tires are the ones where the alignment is off or the suspension components are worn out.

I had the alignment checked by two different shops. It's perfect.

I had also read the tire cupping is due to bad suspension. My Denali has done this since new. It has air shocks. It does it on front and rear. So not sure what the problem could be.

I just checked the tires. They are Bridgestone Duelers.

I am getting 20 to 25k miles out of them.

I drove my 2008 Denali like a complete ******* and I got 60,000 miles out of the set of tires with no irregular wear.
