damn man. i love me some wheelies. I watched a buddy not cover the rear brake and flip it which is when i decided to lower/240 kit my bike to keep me from doing it. Whats killed me the most is i was the one who taught him the clutch up method and watch him get better. ( i did tell him to cover the rear brake lol) After his wreck i bought a 50 which i was pretty damn good at, after my wreck it hurt me to ride that little bike (im 6'4) So i bought a 70 but cant seem to get the hang of it anymore. Its hard to really get comfortable when you lack wrist movement.
You got any videos of you/crew stunting. Love watching those damn things lol
We have tons of video we just need to get it edited so its not just a bunch of talking and alot of dead video with no action. It will be in editing for about a month and if you send me an adress to mail the finished product to Ill get you a copy free of charge. I ran my rear brake to my handle bars so I dont need to have my right leg down covering my rear brake. We finally got another couple sponsors which makes 7 and it helps us with repair costs, the bikes and cover the video costs but if we wreck and are hospital stay is on us. We got two new 600 for stunting but I cant do 600's!! I began, trained and love the litre bikes. I can stunt a 600 I just dont feel comfortable and out of sorts when Im on a 600, I dont know why. I love the low end power of my R1's. PLus it makes highway wheelies eaier at higher speeds because their powerband is from 7KrpM to 10K RPM. So its hard for the camera man to keep up with me, Even with a 52 tooth rear sprocket. My buddy had a bad wreck while doing a stoppie, the front forks couldnt handle the load and gave away sending him into a face plant, thank god he had on a helmet if not it would have been ER then maybe the morgue. I found a way to wheelie a Honda goldwing which was very hard to learn at the beginning but practice sure makes things eaisier but its very hard to see around that damn front end. I have to lean way over or stand up to see where Im going. We had to remove the rear fender because that scraped and the Balance point on that thing is near 12 o'clock. One of our competitiors lost a rider due to a bad wreck. It really makes you thinks. All of us showed up at the funeral and we took the Tank from his bike and repaired it and Custom Painted it and had all of the riders on our circuit sign the tank. Clear coated it and gave it to his widow. They were married 2 years and she was maybe 21 and it broke my heart. They had their whole life ahead of them together. Its not a safe occupation. I broke both my ankles, femur, both arms, shattered my pelvis and mt coller bones. Numerous Ribs. Once I get older all the pain from those breaks will return with a vengeance, my back is messed up from my S1, L1,L2,L3,L4,L5, and T12. I cant get it fused because that would maybe take me out of the game because I would have no mobility. Im waiting for the FDA to approve more than 3 disc replacments. Many have recommended Germany. I called and they require $50,000 (cash) per disc plus it doesnt cover hospital stay or rehab. If I win the lottery that is the only way that will happen. Im so tolerent to pain killers they arent even worth it. SO I have been riding in pain but once the adrenaline gets going all pain goes away?? I shattered both ankles when I thought I would try to lay on the bike pull a wheelie and shift with my hand. it got away from me and I tried to get back on the bike and ended up dropping the bike on my legs doing anywhere from 60 to 80MPH I wasnt sure. Our Motto is "you ride'em you wreck'em" and we want to get away from that motto but it stays with us wherever we go. We made our first appearance at stuntwars awhile back in Daytona over bike week and I won best new tandem stunt and our overall Team took 5th. There are some awesome rider's out there. My girl rides with me and the stunt was I had her on the tank for a high chair and we had a rope tied to my shoulders and she was hold holding onto the rope. I have a powerful R1 and I clutched it up so fast it launched her in the air over me and the rope pulled her down on the back seat of the bike. Its hard to think of new stunts because all of them have mainly been done already. Its was her idea because I didnt have myself in harmsway but she took all the risk. We practiced alot in our shop where we have a simple wheelie machine. We mounted in the floor a tough rubber treadmill lthat is 16" by 24" with high speed bearings with foam around the bike and the exhaust ran out side.We have the bike strapped down so its not going anywhere and we always inspect for any frays or wear in the tie downs because if they let loose it coulI never thought we would be ready even though we practiced for months it was hard to pull up a strong wheelie and then drop it down quick for her to clear my head and land on the back. We successfully landed 5 times before stuntwars off of the wheelie machine so I was very nervous going in not haveing much success. The Crowds for stuntwars are really diminishing alot. I remember 6 years ago when I went the seats were filled. This year their was about half the seats taken up. Its becoming to mainstream and every one is doing it, so watching stunt wars is like watching double aces road after dark on a Saturday night in Las Vegas. I love stunting but I think the sport has peaked. Even though we are still booking shows the pay out is not covering repairs, injuries, tires, travel costs and food like it used too. If it wasnt for our Sponsors we would close shop. Thank you for showing interest in what I do and Ill send you the DVD when its ready if you send me a place to mail it. It has the Goldwinfg wheelie's on there plus the practice and success at stuntwars of our tandem trophy winning stunt. Take care. Where do you live at because a Couple of us plan to take a road trip, with our Mint bikes not our stunt bikes. I own a 2012 R1 that is chromed out with alot of carbon fiber parts, fenders, covers. Everything is carbon fiber except the tank that is carbon fiber molded so it looks like it carbon fiber but its metal underneath.Plus a 280 extended swing arm so I have no urge to stunt. Our last trip last year we pulled into a diner with alot of bikes in the parking lot. They reckognized me and wanted to to stunt their bikes so I had my friend tape that if I wreck Im not liable for any damages. I stunted a guys Gixxer 750 and after I got done he said he could swear that his bike had a problem and couldnt wheelie, So before we left he was getting the tire about 4 inches off the ground and he was happy. Rookies blame it on the bike when the bike is fine they need to grow some quevos and pull it up. Take Care man and Im sorry for writing so much. Bikes are my passion. Take care and ride safe. ZiGGZ
