My sister recently bought a 17 suburban. The back up camera works great during the day but it lights up the whole interior space at night. She doesn't have a chrome license plate cover and we covered the lights for the license plate and that didn't make a difference but as soon as she put in neutral it works great at night. Is there a possibility it has the wrong back up bulbs and that's causing it to be blinding at night?

It could be someone wanted more light and since bulbs are cheap try that first.

Bulbs that give off 'white' light (500K +) can be glaring or blinding
in situations where a sunnier yellowish light (4500K - 5000K) would make things easier to look at and see.

I also put tiny little 'blinders' on my previous 2012 Yukon XL's backup cam to protect it from rain and stray lighting.
Made things much easier to see.

What did you make the blinders from?

It's more the ****** quality of the camera or their software for it. Even durung the day the picture out of it is fuzzy and bright compared to other ones.
