Camera showed up yesterday. Replacement went well and it worked without issues for several trips yesterday and today. So far, so good.

So it's looking like just the camera for you?

Before mine went completely black it would be really staticy like old school tvs before cutting out. Did yours do that? Or just cut to black. I feel like mine is a bad wire somewhere.

Yeah, I did have that maybe three or four times within a few weeks of when the black screen started.

All good again yesterday as well, no black screen.

Good luck! If you can get the applique off it is a lot easier to do without potentially breaking the trim housing for the camera. I could not get the applique off, but I managed to make it work and you really cannot tell how I got it off and swapped it out and it works properly.

Just thought I would check in and say that I have had zero issues since putting in the new camera. That was definitely the problem with mine.

I am having this problem with a 2010 Denali I just bought. Static then black sometimes, works sometimes, and just black sometimes. I turned it off, set parking break, put in reverse when it had the black screen. I tapped on the camera (on lift gate) and watched it come back on. So safe to say that's my problem. Can you guys give me the part number or suggest a decent place to buy a replacement from? I like the quality of factory so would like a camera that is as good or better than that.

Thanks for any help!

Camera issues

There are a couple vendors on here. GM parts direct is one. Make sure to look up the PN. The first one I bought was different than my '07. They range from $200 and up. I got lucky and found one on eBay. The problem comes from the rear appliqué not being sealed very well so water gets in there corroding the wiring. When you replace it use some type of sealer for the edges. I use a simple clear silicone for the shower. Sounds weird but it works and can't be seen. If you need help getting to the connectors message me as I don't check this daily.

You'll probably notice it's worse when it rains too

My part number shows good through 2010. It's 15173619
