Do you guys know if the backup alarm sirens with a built in battery also powers the rest of your alarms system if the power is cut? I just installed a viper 5900 and I want to be able to have the backup siren and have the system(with starter kill) engaged.

No, it doesn't. You will have to add an actually backup battery in order to accomplish that. The backup siren has a battery built into the siren. It will continue to wail if either the alarm power feed is cut, or your truck's battery cables are cut. The theif can even rip it out of your truck and it will keep on wailing. It will keep on wailing until either it goes dead, or you manually disarm it with a key. At least all the ones I have ever installed worked like that.
