It is kind of a side project. It is the daily driver and tow truck, so it’s kind of a part time thing. Eventually I plan to see if it can keep up with the Camaro, but that is a moving target, because the Camaro is ready to break into the 10’s.
My next phase for the Tahoe is to round up the parts to increase the boost. I need the wastegate bypass electric valve, to up the boost from 12 psi. The software is in place to pulse the valve, so I just need to get the additional fuel pump in place to keep up with the extra demand for fuel when it starts blowing harder.
This engine setup, is capable of 1050 hp, and I figure I’m somewhere around 700 at the crank right now. I just want to make sure I don’t make any changes that will screw up the drive-ability. It is perfect right now.
I happy to see that Yukon turning in the 10’s. He also has a 383 with turbo, so I’m guessing if I make the right adjustments, I can get there too.
As far as the exhaust sound with the dump tubes open, It is loud but only about half that of a N/A engine. The turbo’s eat up a lot of the sound. I’ll have to record it when the weather warms up.

Speaking of awesome trucks. Do you have any vids of your truck making any passes?
Not yet, but I hope to get some this summer. Maybe the weather will cooperate this year, on weekends.
