i agree with starting with simpler things, go get that loaner fuel pressure gauge

I can't speak for the OP's model or other certain model-year trucks/SUVs, but I do know that replacing the fuel filter on my '04 YDXL would be a futile exercise, if only because the filter is part of the fuel pump assembly, with the fuel pump itself located inside the fuel tank. IOW--if I'm gonna drop the fuel tank just to get to the filter and the pump has 100K miles on it, I might as well just replace the pump instead because it will definitely go out eventually if it hasn't started acting like it's about to do so.I would try the simpler things first, or cheaper that is. lol. Maybe try replacing fuel filter first also.
