Here's another dumb question....

I cannot , for the life of me, find an 8mm or 5/16 wrench or socket..... Is it safe to use an adjustable wrench?

Yes, but I doubt you’ll have enough clearance.

I cannot fn do this and it seems so goddamn easy. I am frustrated beyond belief. The video shows great clearance from underneath. I crawl underneath and cannot see what to do with that upper part of the hose. Do I just undo that bolt in the middle and pull the whole unit out? I'm losing my mind. Sorry, I'm having a really bad day, week,month

Presumably you have the replacement hose, and looking at that might give clues about what needs to be removed.
