All you need to do the swap is replace the caliper brackets from an 07 and up truck. I`m pretty sure the 07+ rotor is 13 inch. 06 and down is a 12 inch.

Just remember that you need at least a 17 inch wheel to clear the larger caliper and rotor. And it may be a good idea to check the baer website to see if their calipers are larger than the O.E. calipers and if you need a special caliper bracket to mount their caliper on your truck. You may need a larger than 17 inch wheels to fit them.

I did the swap and used R-1 concepts E-line drilled and slotted rotors, I put them on over a year ago with no problems and the zinc coating on the rotor hat still looks great with zero rust.

You will need larger rotors and probably larger wheels. Everything depends on what size calipers they are.

calipers

Ok
I will look on there web site today. I am looking into this cause my breaking seem to be crappy. I replaced padds and rotors two years ago, and the back sides of the rotors are rusty and not making very good contact. I have my wheels off at least twice a year and keep the pins and sliders well lubed. but it hasnt helped. I did buy the good ceramic padds and good rotors to avoid this.
but I was thinking if I got a good zinc coated rotor from baer and there padds it will stop better and last much longer.
I also read here that is the power steering fluid is old it may not stop very good. I have picked up the new fluid but haven't had the time to do it. I hope to make this thing stop better real soon.:boti:

Get a mityvac to suck the brake fluid out from the bleeders. You don't want the reservoir to go low either because if you get air into the system the only way to properly flush it is to use a scan tool to activate the ABS while bleeding the system.

If you get OEM pads and rotors the truck will stop like new. They cost a lot but that's why.

I had the same issue with my original calipers. I also greased the sliders well and the back sides of the front rotors were rusted and the pads weren`t making great contact. Since i upgraded to the 07+ calipers that problem is gone.

Calipers

Do you remember everthing you used to convert them to the new ones?
Was it as easy as taking them off one in the wrecking yard and putting them on your truck? what about the master cyilinder?

If all you did was use factory style calipers then I would be happier to do that. It it way to expensive to convert to baer brakes. minimum with me having the caliper it would be $3000. forget that I can do a bunch of other stuff for that money.

I just got the OE replacement calipers and brackets from advance auto. They`re not very expensive at all. Like a said in an earlier post i used R-1 concepts rotors and pads and also got SS braided lines for the front. The cost for four rotors, pads, lines, calipers and brackets i was right at about $500 It was worth every cent, The hardest part was enlisting my girlfriend to help bleed the brakes.

These are the ones i have, http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...8-P?navigationPath=L1*14921|L2*16461|L3*15684 It`s also the perfect time to throw a few coats of paint on the calipers a few days before you put em on.

That's great I will be doing this in a few weeks. Have to finish up the other taho first it acquired a miss after the tranny install and exhaust manifold repair, may have cracked a plug. Then I will do the big breaks. I did put AC delco padds and rotors on two years ago and still the insides got rusty, I am hopping the new bigger stuff will stop that and make the big girl stop better. From what you are saying I will be very happy
