Ball joints

this past week i got an alignment because of shaking that i felt when driving my hoe...well after the alignment shaking was still there asked my mechanic he said ball joints....i know anything we wanna do to our hoes we can if we just put our mind to it. so how easy or hard is it...do ball joints come in pairs....

They are not sold in pairs, but you replace them in pairs. It's not too hard of a job, honestly you mind as well do bushings while you are in there. I took some pics of when I did mine:

The tops are riveted in, drill them out. The lowers are pressed in, use the ball joint loaner tool from Auto Zone.

There is a chance that the shaking isn't the ball joints, could be wheel bearings, worn steering linkage, bad tires, bad rotors. Mind as well replace everything while you are there. LOL

shaking x2 but i replaced everything but rotors now. guess that would be my problem. hope u figure it out. good luck!

well first i would say that whatever shop you got the alignment at didnt check the front end before they did the alignment cause with loose front end parts you cant do a proper alignment so after you replace the loose parts i would go back to that shop and make them do a free alignment next time just my .02
