Ok all you SPL buffs out there! I just ordered my DD unit, went with a pioneer 4300. Now i want to build a badass stereo. right now i have 15l7 and 1200kx amp and 6cu box that i built in stereo school.

but now i see all the stereos like alx and noph33rracing and i want one now lol.
so what are some good brands that arent 1k$ for an amp. ive looked up Hifonics but allways thought they were just a cheap brand. are they very good? i cant afford shit like Sundown Audio, or id buy it lol.

what are your opinions?

What wattage are you looking for?

Look at buying a used MB Quart Discus, there were a good run done up a year or two ago, that do rated and then some, and it's clean power. They're not the most efficient, but they're good for the price.

The Audiopipe amps are pretty good too, somewhat dirty power according to some, but O-Scopes show that they put out pretty clean power, and on a budget.

If you're looking to do 1.5K RMS+ I'd recommend an electrical upgrade to be safe. Voltage sag creates heat and kills amps, so watch your voltage.

Do you plan to upgrade your front stage to keep up with the subs?

yea i wanna upgrade it all. right now i have kicker 6.5s and jl tweets in all the doors but i know thats no enough.

so say i have 1500 to spend is that enough? ill be installing everything my self.. i can get car parts insanely cheap, so another battery or maybe another alt wont be bad.

Go over to caraudioclassifieds.org and there is tons of good equipment on there. no mainstream crap. How many and what size subs do you want? How much power? If you can find a RD D9 for a good price get on. It does 5400 rms @ .75, ran mine at .5 all day never got hot. I miss that amp. You could find one for around 600-700. Then match some subs to that.
