I accidently left my dome light on last night. So about...12 hours it was on. And i went to start my truck today. Not even a click. Completely dead. The dinger that goes off when you put the key in was barely playing either. Now call me crazy but....should a little light like that COMPLETELY kill my battery?

I went to advanced last week to get my battery tested and they said it was fine...But my hoe has been having real harsh startups in the cold and now the thing is completely dead. I think its time for a new battery. If it was a bad starter would i hear click click click click when i turn the key over? Because thats all i hear.

Buddy came to pick me up for the gym today and we got it started with cables and his truck. My jumper pack just wouldnt do it.

Yeah, the dome light can completely flatten your battery. Unlike other electronics that might need to have a minimum current flowing to run, a light has no such requirement. Higher CCA will help for your cold mornings, but with my old K5, I found nothing helped other than a second battery. I'll be doing this to the Hoe soon, and I'll post a how-to. It's too frickin cold out right now to do it right now though.

my optima took a shit on me last week..it would die after a few hours of music, where before i could play about 8 hours...well it was completely dead the other day..took 25 minutes to jump it, then i drove it for a few hours, shut it off, tried to start, then dead again...

went to walmart and bought the biggest batt that would fit..its like 900 ca or something..its more then my optima..

i have to charge the optima a special way apparently when its completely dead...hopefully i can get that taken care of then run 2 batteries again

cold weather kills weak batteries

Sucks to hear about that. How old was the battery? I would try a new battery before saying it was the starter.
Do you have one or two batteries?
