Is it mounted in the factory location? What type of battery, water or Optima type? Have you checked the water level? Did you check for cracks? Too many people over tighten the battery down, and it will crack the case as it expands and contracts.

Have a 02 yuk, and stock battery clamp, which is on the bottom, nothing on top. Are there other types of clamps that came stock on these trucks? Like on top of the battery?

Mine is the same, I didn't know if other years had a different type of system. My second battery tray has a top clamp.

I had a new mechanic over tighten my top battery clamp in a Rover, where after a few months, the battery split its case.

Is the second battery tray factory or aftermarket? Heard of these off & on, but now curious how/where it goes in these NBS vehicles.
