if there is a clamp looking module with a harness attached to it on the ground cable next to the battery then that is normal based on the computer calculated battery temperature and electrical load on the systemI just replaced battery and tested alternator.
My battery gauge keeps going from 14 down to 12 and constantly fluctuates. It usually only does so at idol. Under load it maintains 14. Is this a bad ground or something else?
I believe so. Will post a pic asap.if there is a clamp looking module with a harness attached to it on the ground cable next to the battery then that is normal based on the computer calculated battery temperature and electrical load on the system
Ty. I just got a new battery (2 days ago) alternator tested good. Will check grounds today.NO RVC on a 2003. The sensor would be clamped to the NEGATIVE cable.
Measure voltage with a DVOM to confirm voltage fluctuation (don't necessarily trust IP gauge). Inspect, clean, and test main grounds and the cable from the alternator to the battery, and condition of battery. Have alternator tested.
not likely, get a multi-meter and verify the voltage output directly at battery and also at the alternator output while idling.I recently got a remote starter installed is this somehow related? I highly regret not just doing it myself in retrospect.
