BDS 4" kits work with Yukon Denali Magneride? mixed answers...

I have been dealing with, researching and agonizing over the Magneride suspension on my 2015 Tahoe LTZ (with max towing package) since purchase date in April 2018. My Tahoe, as with many others I have read about here on the forum, rides extremely rough in the rear, so much so that adults refuse to sit in the 3rd row.

This is the family hauler and daily driver, but I live in Maine and I enjoy getting off the beaten path. My original goal was to lift the truck 4", but research showed that was a challenge, and an expensive one at that. In the end, BDS Suspension is the ONLY company I came across that provides the 4" lift; however, other posts have highlighted the "CHALLENGES" with installing the 4" BDS kit. All in all, more $ spent on getting just a few extra inches and NOT much tire size increase. PLUS, the BDS kit would maintain the factory shocks unless you spend more $ on purchase the front Fox 2.5 reservoir coilovers. Great, but overkill for my setup and probably most rides in general.

SO - where was I left. Leveling the Tahoe. SuspensionMaxx 2.5 Adjustable front kit w/MRC delete, right? 1" coil spacer in back also available with the MRC delete bracket. However, I'm still left with my stock shocks and HORRIBLE rear ride, just up in the air more. Here comes our saving grace, the man with the magic, Max @Xineering.com. Max has developed the GM Shock Simulator, or "Magneride delete" circuitry that literally tells the onboard computer that the Magneride (and AirRide if applicable) is functioning properly. This circuitry allows the driver to install ANY TAHOE COMPATIBLE REAR AND FRONT SHOCK/STRUT/COIL SETUP THEY CHOOSE. In other words, this product gives LTZ and magneride owners the opportunity to convert to a passive suspension system.

Currently, my circuits are shipped and on their way from Xineering's headquarters in Orlando. Once the MRC delete is in place, I am adding the Bilstein B8 5100 rear shocks, 1" rear coil spacer, z71 OEM off-road rear coil spring, and front Fox 2.0 IFP coilovers at 2" ride height. Once I see where the Tahoe sits, new tires are going on. I'm still debating on wheels, I would like to keep my OEM wheels, but the desire for a larger tire and no rubbing may demand new wheels. Also, I am currently sitting on 20" and I think an 18" wheel would provide a better ride as well as improved off road performance.

I will be creating a new thread on my entire MRC delete project once it is underway. Please watch this thread and I will make sure to add a link to my project thread.

The X-ineering "GM Magnetic Suspension Delete Kit" arrived on time, installed easily and is working terrific!!!

I couldn't be happier with the performance thus far and my Tahoe has just over 2,500 miles run now with the shock simulator circuits in place. I installed circuits at all 4 corners so, completely eliminating the magnetic ride shocks - and putting all my trust in the X-ineering engineers.

Upfront I now have the Fox 2.0 Coilover assemblies (they come preset at +2"). In back I am running Bilstein B8 5100 (0-1" lift). While working in the back, I also swapped the original rear coil springs for the z71 off-road Tahoe coil springs (about $85 off e Bay) and added a 1" McBay Performance coil spacer. With the increased ride height up front I wanted to maintain some of the original rake, particularly because I haul a good amount of gear/family when traveling around as well as light towing with my small trailer.

The added ride height from the Fox 2.0's and the rear coil spacer allowed for easy clearance of 275/60r20 NITTO Ridge Grapplers. I had first installed the 275/65's, but measuring just over 34" in diameter the 65's were too close for comfort on the inner fender. I just knew that as soon as I got off the pavement I would be ramming the wheel well. So...the 275/60r20's are rockin' it ******* the truck. The LT version of the tire, it boasts 10 ply walls and 16/32nds tread depth. The rough logging roads of Maine demand something just like these.
So far, the only complaint about the tires are their weight. The 275/60r20 does come in a passenger version by NITTO, but doesn't have the same ply and tread depth. The extra weight is certainly felt in acceleration and braking. Overall gas mileage has decreased about 1.5 miles/gallon. Since I have the max towing package my LTZ is 3.4 gear ratio. I do believe that the 3.1 regular setup could be an issue with these heavy tires.

All in all - the X-ineering product is holding up very well and allowed me to accomplish my goals of deleting the magneride and installing my choice of aftermarket shocks/lift setup.

I just checked BDS's website and BDS now offers lifts for Magneride equipped SUV's.

I don’t have any good pictures yet since the transformation from lowrider to lifted.
I ditched the 2/4 Beltech drop kit and Giovanna 24” Wheels along with the MRC and Auto Level. It looked great lowered and actually drove great. But as soon as my MRC shocks started loosing oil and riding like crap, it was time for a change.
So I did tons of research on here and based off my findings, I went the obvious and best route, in my opinion.
I did the BDS lift with Fox adjustable compression rate coilovers. The shocks are also height adjustable so don’t think you’re stuck with just a 4” or 6” lift, you can adjust them to do whatever you want/need. I haven’t measured but I know for sure I’m around 5” over stock.
I did the 3” rear kit from BDS in the rear. You can choose between 2” or 3”. The 3” is actually a kit that relocates a lot of things. The 2” is nothing more than a 2” spacer. I also went overboard and replaced the OEM Yukon XL Denali coils with New OEM Z71 Suburban rear coils. Figured why not?
I replaced the upper control arms with a machined high performance arm from Mazzulla Offroad.
The wheels are Method NV 20x9 simulated beadlocks.
The tires are Toyo Open County M/T 35x12.5R20
With all this weight the factory brakes have no chance in actually effectively stopping me so I had to upgrade to the best option there too. Went with Wilwood 16” Rotors and 6 piston Calipers out front and 14” Rotors and 4 piston Calipers in the rear. Would have 16” & 6 all around but they don’t make it. Overkill I guess.
I had to do some trimming and adjusting to actually fit the 35’s without going 6” or higher in lift. The automatic steps were adjusted and moved back. Nothing crazy or too obvious. It’s all very clean.
It rides and works amazing. Couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend doing it all. It was well worth the $$$
