New to the forum and new to the Tahoe life! I just got me an 06 Tahoe LT. This is my first Tahoe and I love it. I spotted it at a chevy used lot and was way too clean to pass up. Was a one owner from an older couple nearby, was the wife's car and it sounds like it sat in the garage all the time. They bought it from this dealer in 06 and traded it back 10 years later to the same dealer. Some people at the dealership knew the owners of it before they traded it in. It has 90k on the dash and full carfax. Every oil change and piece of maintenance was done at this dealer.

I have been looking at other people's build threads and figured i'd start one. I have come up with some good ideas as far as upgrades id like to do. First up is tint on the front windows and some bass because the bose just doesn't do it for me. I need to peel off the side moldings too because one looks really bad for some reason. I'm sure there will be much more to come.20160910_170914.jpg 20160910_170905.jpg 20161002_171511.jpg 20160910_170951.jpg 20160910_170954.jpg

I found some leather conditioning called leather honey. works wonders, I'd like to do a couple more treatments because the drivers seat felt a little dry.20160923_163635.jpg 20160924_102609.jpg 20160923_163704.jpg 20160923_163650.jpg

Does anyone have any idea how much it might cost to color match all the chrome at a body shop? I'd like to do the bumpers, grille, rear corner vent caps and an esky third brake light.

Welcome. That is super clean. The driver's seat barely has a crease!! So much potential to go with here.

You can look thru my build thread for write up and ideas. I have an 06 LS and had everything color matched. Since you are an LT, you have less to color match. Check out automotivetouchup.com for paint. Spray cans, quarts and gallons as well. I color matched all those parts and a few more. Really depends on how well you know your painters. I would have to say for all in those parts, paint, their labor and good customer discount (they do work stuff for me too so that helps) somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000 +/-. It was all cash so I don't actually have invoices on that stuff as it was always a handshake deal.

Nice looking Tahoe. My esky third tail light costed $100 to have the base color matched to my truck. My original Yukon vent covers costed the same I think to get painted. Now I have esky vents. That is all my parts were off the truck to go to the shop to get painted lol. The chrome bumpers would probably cost more as it takes quite a bit more sanding from what I understand to get it ready to be painted. @Fosscore , makes a good point on the body shop stuff. I'm in California so everything is more expensive here. But I also have a good working relationship with a local body shop cuz he's painted a lot for me and he's kicked some detailing work my way. So it'll depend on your shops.

Thank you I appreciate it! I have gone thorough your entire build thread already ha. You have a gorgeous Tahoe Sir. A lot of good ideas came from your thread. My work has a paint shop so I might be able to sneak in there one weekend and paint a few pieces and save me a few bucks. I wont be able to pull the vehicle in there though so ill have to figure that part out as far as bumpers. As far as color matching and it being a 10 year old vehicle, do you think it would still match well?
