Guys, my '07 Burban is currently lowered 2" front with Belltech spindles. I have just ordered a new set of the Arnott struts and plan on going down another 1" (for a total front drop of 3"). Will I need the Belltech camber bushings at the 3" level to get it into alignment? Anyone have any experience to share with this?

There is a high chance you will due to the Belltech spindle being taller than the stock one. You should just go ahead and buy it, but do not install it until you are sure it is needed.
I have a 1" strut drop on top of the 2" McG spindles and I did not need them.

Thanks Modded. I have the bushings already, and will be doing the strut mod on the new struts - just wasn't sure if I'd need the bushings for sure.

Not at all.
It is just not the right and safe way of achieving a drop with a strut assembly for a heavy SUV.
But if the OP is already tunneled in on it, then there is no use of trying to sway him away from it.

6 years of doing my strut mod and up to now no issues so I hope I have enough knowledge on the subject lol. For 1 inch you will be fine and ive machined a lot of them no issues at all. If you have high mileage I wouldn't do it but you said you have new shocks so your ready to roll also its only .62 inches of shock stroke lost not much at all.

I have 2.75 on mine (spinldes/modified struts) on my escalade and I barley aligned where as another truck I did aligned fine. Also daily driven in pothole full san francisco no issues and is safe. The oem shock or autoride shock shaft body thickness is exactly the same in the oem position as well as if you mill the rings lower does not thin out (already cut a few bad shocks in half to verify) Im going to actually go over my alignment tomm to check it out since I took lower a arms off to take some measurements for custom spohn front lower a arms and put it back together. Lined it all up with marker lines but I just want to double check to be safe since I messed with upper camber was able to push it out a little more. If you can wait till tomorrow Ill be doing my alignment on mine and I'll throw up what came up just to give more feedback here.

NOTE MAKE SURE THE MACHINE SHOP RUNS THE SHOCK BEFORE CUTTING IT. Lots of shops dont check this and when they mill it one side is a lot deeper than the other you do not want this also on autoride struts DO NOT let the shaft move because it will break the shock even when you tighten it up. shoot me a email I made a custom tool to help you take apart the shock and not damage it [email protected]

If the shop has any questions on milling it they can call me also I've helped a few of them because they look at in and just never have done it so not sure whats up

One last thing if there was ANY issue with the strut mod that I would have seen I would never have put it on my wifes truck that has 2 of my little kids in it everyday. Its a mom mobile/drag racer/road course events at good guys show. I think this last paragraph pretty much sums it up.

As I am the "OP" in question, thought I'd clarify - I am open to opinions and advice, that's why I ask questions on this forum. I have the Belltech 2" spindle installed already and also have the Belltech front springs from the kit I purchased; my plan was to install these front springs (with spacers) to achieve a total front drop of 3". However, through reading this forum, it seems that the majority are against using springs in the front. I also have been unable to find any guys that actually have springs in front to give me their opinion on how the truck rides, so, THAT is why I'm leaning towards the strut mod.

If someone / several people can assure me that the springs are a decent way to proceed (or are better that another way), then I'd be open to that also. On a related note, as Belltech has designed so many good kits (have used their stuff in the past), I can't imagine them designing and supplying a kit that would provide a ****** ride.?

Thanks for all your opinions and insight guys.
