I use McGaughy spindles for over 5yrs and 5" springs for 2. I have upgraded most of the suspension components thru the years, trial and error and trying different things to get it dialed in decent. I sit at 31 1/2" front, 32" rear.

I think my McGaughy rear springs ride good tho, but it is a lowered SUV. But the wife likes it and most people I've put in it have been impressed with how well it rides for being so low. That being said, can't personally say it rides any better or worse then other brand springs, since I haven't recently used any others to compare. Would like to try out some newer DJM/Belltech ect.. coils n feel them tho.
IF SOMEONE WANTS TO DONATE SOME DJM SPRINGS SO I CAN DO A COMPARISON. WILLING TO ACCEPT :Handshake:

Shocks play a part in overall feel and handling. Stiffer, softer, whatever's your pleasure, will affect the feel. So I would definitely suggest buying quality drop shocks. I have used a few brands, and currently running SP up front, and Doetsch Tech in rear. I would also say get an adjustable panhard bar asap when going that low. Save your RLCA from buggering up. Free travel mod, a must! No need for shock extenders with drop shocks.

I would say, just like most have, save up money, do it right the first time if you can. Cause if you skimp here or there. You are gonna end up hating the ride, no matter what brand lowering kit. And just end up spending more money down the road.

Damn your tahoe sits perfect! So youre still running the McGys kit front Spindels/Keys rear coils? Is that how it sat from the get go? I love how yours looks, I dont mind the rear to sit slightly higher just not a whole inch. So would you say drop shocks work better than shock extenders? Thanks for your input.

SHOT YOU a pm

1) i designed the rear springs. sit lower and ride better htan any other 5 inch spring out there plus sits lower. I had even members on this site test them before production went out and they were very happy

2) the rear kit I set up complete. Djm swaybar endlinks which relocate the swaybar over when you cut the bracket off the frame and ride is nice.

3) in front the djm lowers with the belltech sp shocks i set up rides excellent and no loss in turning radius and aligns

Here goes a customers truck that was very happy with the kit i set up above

oh and also in rear i set up the springs so you can tow. NO DEAD COILS so i set it up arond using the airlift 60742 helper bag so you can tow and load it up and will ride very well. ALso 8 13w7s in a big box with 2 batteries in back of a suburban with 5 guys in the truck had no issues wiht this kit and im sure the rear box with subs and amps and 3 guys in the rear seat was over 1300 pounds

The main thing on local customers trucks i do and also on kits on here i sell I tell them id rather they save up the money and do it right and be happy with the results.

Either way just holler back if you have any questions im around 24/7

Got it Tony! Thanks. As I said before your kit is a little out of my range, especially now that some unexpected things happened this past week. But I do believe in doing things right the first time so I dont mind waiting... I just really like what people have to say about the McGhys kit. Some times I've seen that tahoes sit lower in the rear than the front... Not many but few.. I had this issue once on my 04 Expodition which was riding on a Beltech 2/2 drop and I hated that! lol. So can you confirm that is not an issue? Also I've read some folks had trouble getting all four corners to match... Anyway I'm definitely willing to learn more about your system since dropping my truck is going to happen soon one way or another. I was under the tahoe yesterday and noticed I'm rubbing in the rear inner plastics and even a little on the shock... I'm rolling on 24x10 Boss 330 wheels and I dont know the offset since I bought them used.. I wish I knew what offset they offered em in to have an Idea but now I'm wondering if I can even go the low in the rear... Heres a few snap shots I took so you could see.. Waht do you think, will that be a problem?

you lose turning radius and at 3 inch level keys with spindles do not ride as well as arms. also dont run mcgaughys shocks they arent the greatest at all. after doing these trucks since late 99 when they first came out ive learned a lot over the last almost 14 years

the rear is normal rubbing. Gm used different lengths bolts on the rear top shocks so many times i have customers come to me saying tires are shot in rear and sure enough the shop didnt take the time to flip the upper bolts around. This is the first thing i do on ANY kit in install here locally.

ALso in rear you will need to trim inner well plastics when lowering its nothing major.

Sweet, Thanks Tony! So would u say installing Arms are the same in difficulty as installing spindels? and I see the your kit says 3/5-6... How is the rear adjustable? I'd like to not have the rear sag at all maybe even a qtr inch higher since I do have a system in the back.

spindles are only 2 inches. arms are adjustable to 2-3 inches

easier for 3 inches to do arms then to do arms and keys and then you might have alignment issues which means camber bushings when you do the keys and spindles.

my rear kit has a 1 inch spacer so makes it a 5-6 inch adjustable and also my springs with 8 13w7s in the back of a subuarban and airlift helper bags were no issues and those subs with the box and batteries were over 1000 pounds

+1 on tony and his products. Have his custom springs in rear and there great. And his customer support is the balls. I did a hacked kit that I hated before I found this forum which lead to Where I am now 1000 times better ride.
