My AVIC did make the stock Bose speakers sound a good bit better, but they are still lacking, especially at higher volume. And I like to jam :rocking:

I've looked at Polk DB651's, any opinions?

I'm not above going with some Focal 165CA1's but I really don't want to spend that much on door speakers...though if I did I would only put them in the front and go with something like the Polks for the rear.

What do you guys have? I don't want to go as far as amping them, I just want better sound! Not trying to win any competitions.

I was going to go with a JL 300/4 amp with the Focal component's in the front and Focal coaxials in the back but decided in the long run that it's not worth switching out my Bose speakers : /

Unless they bust, I probably won't change them. But I'm partial to JL Audio. They make real good speakers-- my last nbs Tahoe I had Infinity Kappa Perfect components and they sounded great.

i picked up 2 sets of Alpine SPX-17 pro's they are the best speakers Alpine makes. They have crystal clear sound with an adjustable tweeter so u can adjust them on how loud you want them. I've had the Polk DB651's, and the sound quality is incomparable. You can pick them up on Ebay for $322.99 a set. and if you dont like these another good route for the price is Boston Acoustics

yes sir with a Alpine PDX-F6 its 150 watts rms per channel, but i had them on a amp that pushed 100 watts rms per channel and they still sounded great but a lil more power helps.

I heard a bunch of speakers while hunter for the right ones for me and i would recommend these speakers ro anyone.
