I have used Techron in another vehicle and had an issue several weeks later. Not sure if it was just coincidental, but I have been afraid to use it again. Anyone do this every 10k? What do you use?

Thanks.

Use top tier gasoline and you shouldn't need a cleaner. If you think or feel that it needs to be done I have used Techron with no problems.

we use a lot of Sams club 93 and Wawa 92. Not sure how good they really are. My last BMW had some good carbon buildup but I think it was due to engine design. TT V8. The GMC runs a little rough at times. I might just need a new engine filter.

It shouldn't harm the fuel injectors. I'v been using Techron on all of my "non" DI engines with no issues. Helps with the carbon buildup in the valves.
But since we have DI engines it will only help the injectors from buildup. As for our valves.. there will be buildup as the EGR system puts fumes in the precombustion intake valves.

On one of my DI cars I use Sea foam and dump it in the intake manifold using one of the vacuum lines.
Maybe installing a catch can may be a better solution.

I am getting a strange sound and bump from under the car under WOT. Its almost like a backfire or a fuel cutoff. Very strange. Its rare that I hit it hard, but I tried a few more times in order to see if it would happen again.
