I've got an '03 yukon XL. The brakes need to be replaced soon and I wanted to get opinions on what the best brakes are for this vehicle? I'm 23 and not looking to spend a ton of monies on BIG BRAKE KITS or anything. Just the best you can get for a less than $200.00 job.

I can indeed help with brake upgrades for your XL that would not only improve longevity and braking performance, but not cost a mint either. The retail price of an R1Concepts Eline series drilled and slotted rotor package matched with quality full ceramic brake pads is $423.94, but right now we are offering 15% off with free shipping on all orders over $99. That would bring the shipped price of the entire package for everything for the front and rear of your Yukon would be $360.35 out the door. I know this doesn't fall under the $200 budget range, but this is a 100% OEM replacement bolt on package that fits fine inside stock wheels, provide improved braking performance with shorter stopping distances, less brake fade under extreme braking conditions and will last a LOT longer than stock OEM replacement parts. The pads are made with a low dust low noise formula that all but eliminates brake dust on the rims and squealing. This package is truly the best bang for the buck out there.

Let me know if I can help further!

The yukon has the stock 16" wheels. Will the brakes still fit?

Yes they will. I've ran them on a few different vehicles I've own(ed) and had them on as small as a 15" wheel (91 caprice) and they fit great as they are the same size as stock but perform at a much higher level.

Check out Rockauto, they have some good prices on the parts, including drilled and slotted rotors. You can usually find a code for 5% too.

Oh man, this sounds like what I need! How does this setup compare to the GMT900 upgrade? What are the main differences between factory and the Freedom setup? Just the rotors and pads? Thanks.

Rotors being higher quality drilled and slotted units and pads being high quality full ceramic units are the only difference from OEM. There is no difference in size or installation at all. Honestly, I see no real need for a GMT900 upgrade myself unless you are pushing big power combined with seriously oversized rims and or tires or pull extremely heavy a lot of the time. Our Yukon Denali with this same package performed flawlessly in all conditions and we NEVER had an issue with stopping on a dime, even with my wife's habit of waiting until she was 3 feet from a stop to actually apply her brakes.

Sounds great! I'll probably be reaching out to you within the next month. :)
