Best Tire size for 05 2WD

It is time for me to put new rubber on my wife's '05 Tahoe 2WD.
She wants the wheel well to be more full. It has 265/70/16 on it now.
I am on a budget so new wheels are not really what I am after in the move.
I was thinking of something a bit taller and the same width, if possible.
I know you have had the same experience so wanted to check for wisdom.

My 05 Escalade had 285/70/17s on it when I purchased it, 265s are the stock size. The 285s looks too full in the wheel well for my taste, not to mention the speedo being off by about 5mph at 70.

I don't think I got any pics of it before the new tires but I'll take a look around.

265 75 16 will be slightly taller. most available tires in that size are going to be LT tires and will ride a bit differently.

:imo its not worth it. if you want to make a statement with your wheel/tire set up there are better ways to do it.

just stick with the 265 70 16. money is better spent going with a higher quality tire in that size. michelin ltx ms2's are awesome tires.
