Battery Questions and Opinions wanted

I'm trying to decide on a new battery for my Yukon. I have already upgraded the Alt and I still have terrible dimming problems. I am hoping that a new battery will fix this issue. Right now I have a Diehard Gold series and it just isn't cutting it. So my question is, what are some good recommendations for a new battery? Right now I'm only running around 1400 watts RMS and I have had to disconnect the amp because the dimming is so bad.

Diehard Platinum, Optima YellowTop, Stinger?

I do know that the Diehard platinums are just rebranded Odyssey batteries and aren't made by the same company as the other Diehard batteries. I have also heard that Odyssey also makes the Stinger Batteries.

I have been doing research and have seen that Optima batteries have gone down in quality and aren't as good as they used to be. This includes their warranty as not being as good.

I know that Kinetik batteries are good too, but I don't really want to convert my battery posts.

Once my system is finished I will be running around 2200 watts RMS.

The Alternator that I got was off ebay and is suppose to have a peak output of 250 Amps, but it isn't achieved until several thousand RPMs. I do know that caps are pointless and suck too, I'm not getting one.

I am open to all opinions and recommendations and all the help I can get, thanks guys!!!

I forget to mention I have done the Big 3 as well with 1/0 welding cable. Did not help my lights at all. And I have 1/0 running back to the amp I currently have installed.

Oh ok. Well, I've heard good things about the optimas. Also, make sure all your power connections are clean. You can get a lot of resistance from dirty contacts. Whichever battery you go with, hopefully it helps. There's also the option of adding a second battery. Here's a writeup of a dual battery setup-

Yeah I have been thinking about going the route of adding a 2nd battery, just been having trouble on deciding what battery to go with. Would a 2nd battery help that much with my lights dimming? I assume that if I did add a 2nd battery would I hook the amp and any other accessories to that battery?

What about using a smaller pulley on your alt? That should spin it faster with lower rpms. Also dual batteries will definitely help out, too. Someone already posted the link for that. Good luck with the project!

What alt did you go with? If you didn't go big enough, that could be the source of your problem.

It was an ebay one that was suppose to be 250 Amp but it didnt get 250 amps until after like 1700 RPMs or something like that, could that be the issue?
