I'm the one with nates setup and I wired mine directly from the front engine bay battery. I have it wired to the rear where I have another small battery in the box with 2 caps as well.

I've never had an issue whatsoever wi anything and my amp is 3100 watts and I beat it pretty hard sometimes.

Just make sure you have proper gauge wiring and take advantage of a small "bat cap" battery for the rear.

It's all in now. Evening good but the headlights dim like crazy. Usually give at speed but when stopped either idling or auto stop lights dim badly. Could I put a xs power battery in to replace my stock battery or will that mess with the hybrid system. I'm wondering if it would charge all the way up like the stock battery or not get full. I don't really understand fully how the hybrid system works with the 12v

I am going to revive this as I am getting to the point that I need to get this done. I have done much searching and maybe I am not using the right terms. But I need the stock alternator bracket that would come on a non hybrid Tahoe with the 6.0L engine. You can see the pictures in my post previously and there is a pulley on a bracket that appears to mount where the alternator would mount if there was one from factory. I can't seem to find any auto parts place that sells this. Although when searching it does seem that the Tahoe did not come with an optional 6L engine except for the Hybrid. So does anyone have any idea what stock mount would work? I have seen lots of dual alt moutning kits but all of them appear to attach to the stock mount so that isn't going to help I don't think. I guess maybe I could get one and it wouldn't make it dual it would just hold the single alternator. Assuming the way it attaches are with the same bolts holding the pulley mount currently in the vehicle in place. Which is likely I suppose. But I would like to just get a stock alt mount then I imagine I could use the stock serpentine since there is a pulley there now. Anyway any help would be great from my searches seems like not a lot has been done with Car Audio in the Hybrids at least with adding alts and batteries and what not.

Thanks,

My next question I am hoping someone might know the answer to but is the pulley that is mounted to that bracket just to sit in place for where the alt pulley would be? It seems like it but then I had looked at some pics of gas hoe's and it looks to be there on those to.

Could someone that has a gas Tahoe possibly post some pics of their engine bay so I can compare. I am looking on the web but most are kinda far back full shots I just need a close up or two of the alternator bracket and any pulleys that might be near it. I specifically need to see if the part currently on my hybrid needs to be removed or if this actually mounts next to it.

This is the best shot I could get.

Im sort of wondering if the two bolt holes there don't meet up with the barcket? Also that wire is going to have to be shifted around I am sure because I think it is right where the alt would sit. Honestly the alt can be anywhere since I will have a self exciting alt and just the 0ga wires running to the batteries in the back. It doesn't have anything to do with the actual car operations.

View attachment 57432 I need to figure out how to fix the gap between climate control and dash kit. Don't think I can. There is a lip on the climate control that fit over factory I could probably grind out the groove on dash kit. But I really like this HU.

Hate to revive old stuff but I noticed you changed your HU to a pioneer like I want to. Question is did you lose anything at all after install? If so what? I want to change my Yukon Denali Hybrid nav to a avic-8200nex but NERVOUS as hell.
