this weekend i had spent some time under my yukon due to a shock bolt that fell off due to me not assuring it was tight-- :Stupid Me:
history on truck

i had the factory air ride system - rear shock bags were damaged, so i replaced all 4 with the bilstein HD shocks-

on sunday, i discovered that the rear shocks had what appears to be a leak coming from the top of the shock-(under the boot cover) as if it is/was leaking the fluid out..

could this been caused due to the truck being at stock height?not lowered? i intend to do a 2/4 by the end of this year.

are these HD shocks intended for lowered trucks? i should of have made sure of this prior to installing them..

No

They are intended for stock suspension.

Maybe it was just a bad shock or something, but if you go to Bilsteins website, you'll see they are for stock suspensions and most people use them because they are just a great shock. If you're using them on a lowered application, you need to use the shock extension so the shock sits/compresses like it would on a stock height truck.

No worries. Spindles keep the front shocks at OEM ride height/compression and the rear shock extensions will do the same for the rear. So you should be good!
