no they have it done a number of times for instance the 2000 came out in both obs and nbs, not so much that I know of on the 2007, but they did it again on the 2015 and this is just this particular model line

The flat smooth pads on the center console do not charge the phones it is the one with the ridges which are very different and the sales person should of been knowledgeable of this. You could also use that fact as ammunition plus specifically the 8 speed when you talk to the GM or the owner. I would list all the features that I listed that you missed out on. I have a feeling that if they don't take care of you you will not be happy with the current vehicle. If they really want to help they can undo the deal and put you into what you wanted and thought you were getting. Stand your ground when speaking to them and hopefully it will work out. Good luck.
Right. But don't be an *******- you catch more flies with honey. This place is obviously not a Cadillac- or even GM-exclusive dealership, so you can't expect them to know every model year (and especially mid-year) differences of every vehicle on their lot. The lot owners and employees are human and are subject to error. Now, what they ARE responsible for is the accuracy of what they're advertising for sale on their lot. The grey area is what the test drive is for. If something is not as advertised and are deal-breakers, then you can leave with just being upset with them that they weren't accurate instead of signing the dotted line. Really, anything they do after the fact (other than warranty repairs) is out of kindness/customer service. They could just tell you "Sorry for our inaccuracies, but it was sold as-is".
I am starting to get a bad feeling about this Escalade aside from the things I've mentioned so far. When we went to test drive it, the battery was completely dead. So we took a Denali out instead while they got this one running. When we got back it was running and after driving for a while (alternator voltage was 14.2 according to the instrument panel) the battery seemed to charge enough to restart it.
In my experience with Subs, and all the electrical demands, if the battery is weak it can effect transmission shifting, traction control, engine performance, and the like.
Anyway, the check engine light was on despite seeming to be running ok. As part of the deal, they agreed to fix whatever was causing the light to remain on and I have that in writing. I even gave them examples of some things it could be, and they assured me they would fix the issue/s, not just reset the check engine light. Well when I woke up yesterday morning the battery was completely dead again, so I put it on a long charge and it was starting again. Low and behold the engine light was off, so it either reset itself from being completely dead, or with the battery fully charged, that might have been causing it.
I noticed last night that some of the lights on the control panel where the A/C controls are, were staying on. I chalked it up to not knowing how long they would take to go off, and presumably the battery saver who turn everything off.
But this morning it was completely dead again. So I suspect I have a drain on the battery which is causing it to go dead. After fully charging it again today, I started it and everything seemed fine. But then a short time later it would not start with the battery being very weak. So this battery is obvious toast not being able to hold a charge even with a drain for a short time.
My worry is that it has some electronic malfunction/drain that killed the battery.
So I cannot even get it back to them until tomorrow at the earliest, as their service department is closed today.
The way I see it, they will need to take it back and get me a comparable 2015 with an 8 speed transmission and the other things that come with it. They do offer a 7 day no questions asked exchange policy, however I do not intend on paying their "restocking fee" of 7% considering they sold me a vehicle without what their ad described.
