well went to get some stuff for T-day dinner and the hoe died on the way home.

It would idle but as soon as you gave it gas she would die then idling it just died. started looking under the hood and noticed the fuel pump was not humming when I turned the key on. Checked the relay and it looks like its good and my voltages going into the relay are good.

so I guess after 151k the pump finally gave out. Wonder if this is why the truck would seem like it didn't have any power above 3800 rpm and start pinging and knocking about 4000 rpm.

so happy happy joy joy for me I get to do a fuel pump tomorrow

Always happens at the worst time. Make sure u go with a Delphi pump and not one of the cheaper alternatives.

Your pump couldn't keep up with demand and at 4000rpm you probably had lots of timing with a leaning mixture causing you dentonation problem.:sorrysign:

You would think a tank access cover at the factory for a suv would have been a good idea. They do it for cars covered with carpet and seats above them.

they dont come with them.. :)

but people kind of get mad when we talk about this subject, since cutting with a grinder or holesaw can make sparks fly and with a gas tank underneath and such, people on here tend to tighten up a bit. lol SOOO do it with caution!
then come back and post pics :) haha
