Had my dealership do a chrome delete on my new 23 XL Denali. Another dealership quoted me 5k for vinyl but dealership I ended up buying car from charged me 6k for a combo of paint+vinyl, ceramic pro gold on entire truck and front half ceramic pro PPF including door cups. I’d reach out to a few dealerships and just compare pricing.

Amazing what stealerships can get away with charging. I did a chrome delete (part paint, part wrap) using a local vinyl shop and it was around $1200. That included getting some factory paint and color matching my rear GMC logo and the trim strip on the fixed running boards. I'm sure most of your cost was the ceramic work but seems going somewhere other than the dealer is the way to go for chrome delete

WNile this is true, most people don’t have time to shop around or have 2-3 other cars to drive. They want to look they want, they wanna be able to pick it up and have it done, and potentially they even want to finance it into their financing.
Mine was bought hours away from home, and I didn’t have time to mess around. I just wanted it done and done right, which it was, before I picked it up. I paid a little more than I possibly should have for it but I don’t have time to have it out of commission for fluff like this. I didn’t pay any dealer add-on fees, or expensive document fees and got it at MSRP + 195 paperwork, so the blackout fee was worth it to me to have it behind me….

I called a few shops around who had food recs and just the chrome black out was $5k. Dealership actually gave me what I think was a good deal including chrome black out, ceramic and PPF. I am out of state so again, convenience of one stop shop and having everything done prior to shipment to me was perfect. Also seemed like a pretty good value based on other quotes I got.

I'm interested to see how this works out for you. I'm sure the price is a lot less than having a shop paint the stock grill but I'm wondering more about the quality and fit of this eBay black grill.
I just finished installing it today. This was not a fun install but it looks amazing and was cheaper than painting the grille and I don’t have to worry about chips in the paint.
