IM not a fan of the new z71's but blacked out might look good. Be careful about lowering a already lifted up(more than other tahoes factory) 4wd especially a 3/5. Thats a lot and im sure you will see drive issues in the future...i did with my 03. if you do the red around the rims they will look a lot smaller...

and as far as removing the rack...take it off and plug the holes with silicon

Its a 5.3.'' and last off to the guy that quoted the most powerful a stock z71 will **** up any yukon or escalade it keeps up with my dads supercharged rover sport. http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2008-chevrolet-tahoe.htm2008 Tahoe Specs ...
A 295-hp 4.8-liter V8 engine is standard on the 2WD Tahoe LS. A 320-hp 5.3-liter V8 is optional on that model and standard on all other Tahoes, except the Hybrid. Some versions of that engine can run on E85 ethanol fuel. Newly available on rear-drive Tahoe LTZ models is a 380-hp 6.2-liter V8. Tahoe Hybrids have a 332-hp 6.0-liter V8 that pairs with an electric motor. These models can run on one or both of their power sources, depending on driving demands, and require no plug-in charging. The 5.3- and 6.0-liter engines have GM's Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation. All Tahoes have an automatic transmission. 6.2-liter versions use a 6-speed. Hybrids have a continuously variable transmission (CVT). All others have a 4-speed. Maximum towing capacity is 8200 lb. (( Okay heres where i was saying mine was limited on my vehicle specs sheet it says LTZ Z71 2007-2008 they offered a limited edition that now you can only purchase Z71s as the basic LT package. Witch is a 5.4L dose that answer your question i can post a pic of my specs sheet if you would like me to ?

With the 6.2L in your truck that makes it one hell of a sleeper for a tahoe. No one would expect that. I think blacking it out is a great idea. Maybe you could paint the chrome around the hi's and low's.

I dont know if you have done this yet or what but put your vin # in here and it will tell you exactly how rare your truck is.

Yea I was disappointed with the 380bhp too my dads platinum f150 left me in the dust today lol and I think blacking out a z71 will look sportier cuz of the more masculine body kit it has. I'm scared to lower it tho just like u said I'm lowering a ready lifted 4x4 ? I think il see what it looks like after rims and then decide if it's worth it drop it. How's the tahoes resale ?

Hey Black71, there isnt' a Z71/LTZ package and even based on the description and link, the 6.2L is only available with 2WD (your truck is 4WD). If there is such a package, the truck should also have the autoride rear suspension just like the LTZ. I also saw the other pic of your truck, and the resonator looks like the one off the 5.3L not the 6.2L.

Too bad, I guess I will wait for future Z71 models and hopefully they will offer an upgraded engine package or just upgrade the existing one as time/budget allows.

Thanks any way.
