Bleeding Brakes

I have an 08 Escalade. There are different opinions on bleeding the brakes. Some say that you need a tech2 and/or just the bleeding at the four corners. I just want to get a definite answer. I have the one man job vacuum pump.

I did it the traditional way and it was fine on my 08 denali.

I changed all 4 calipers and had no brakes. It was full of air. Blead in x pattern let old fluid drip out using hoses and came out great.

Are you referring to the gravity method? All the calipers were bad?

Just did my brakes 2 weeks ago. Tried old school on the fronts but could not get all the air out. Due to my limited knowledge had to drop 75 bucks to bleed the whole system. Luckily it was 75 bucks well spent. Brakes feel solid once again.

Yes gravity blead then the good old pump pump press. I had help.

I have always used a Motive Power Bleeder for all my cars, have the GM adapter to do my Denali. Do my brakes every two years, with good ATE SL brake fluid.
Using the Motive makes bleeding a one person job, just connect the jug with a liter of brake fluid to the top of the master cylinder reservoir, pump up to 10psi, then go around the vehicle starting at the right rear and crack open the bleeders one at a time. Can do the entire job in 30 minutes including the time it takes to get the Denali safely up on jack stands and remove the wheels.

I've done it both ways, the Tech2 makes it easier but the traditional method works just as well. I replaced all 4 calipers on my Escalade and had lots of air in the system so it probably took longer without the Tech2.
