Blend Door Actuator Location

Hi Guys,

I have a 2005 Yukon XL and the drivers side air is blowing HOT (independent of what the climate control is set to) while the passenger side is blowing the correct temperature!

I read up that this could possibly be caused by a faulty (or stuck) blend door actuator, but I've read conflicting posts on where this actuator could be located. Some day under the drivers side, others under the passenger side. I don't particularly want to guess and take one side apart and be wrong, so I thought I'd ask here to see if you guys know where I should start!

Passenger side, the hot/cold door is actually a door split in half, assuming you have independent driver passenger temp settings. The actuator on bottom is fairly easy to get too, the one on top you have to take the dash apart. Their are some write-ups around the web if you do some google searches. You can also install a heater-treater (which I did) that will do away with the top actuator and also the separate temp settings.
If I remember right the one on the drivers side has to do with the defrost/vents selection.

Thanks - I do have separate driver / passenger side controls on my dash. So I'll start digging around under the passenger side to see if I can find it!

You can also go to You Tube. 1A Auto has a good video on this. Had to do it. Wasn't hard, more of a pITA.
