Blend door actuator part #

I honestly have tried to do a ton of reading in various places prior to making this post. I replied to a post last night asking this questions (which was probably the wrong way to do it). I have an 02 Tahoe that does not have dual climate controls. It does have front / rear but not separate driver passenger controls. I am only getting cold air so I pulled the lower actuator on the passenger side. Part number was 604-113 which I believe was put in by previous owner. I bought another one but it did not work either. I do not know which OEM part is correct for this actuator. I have seen so many posts calling it various names and tons of different numbers. I don't know which part to buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is making me crazy.

To begin with, that number is a Dorman part and those actuators are not recommended for reliability reasons. I don't know if it would be the correct one in your application, but there are many of us who would never use an actuator of that brand.

If you already have your own thread going about this, stick to that one; otherwise continue with this one. It's confusing to have different threads from the same person about the same issue, and the responses will be lacking. In your thread post up your "Cxx" RPO codes from the glovebox lid, and maybe a pic of your HVAC control head.

I also replaced the drivers side Blend Door Actuator on my 05 last summer, mine is situated in foot rest area of passenger side, behinds Center console (difficult to replace). I too got a lot of confusing info about actual part number. I called the local Chev dealer parts department to ascertain the correct part number.

TIP, order genuine GM parts, stay away from knock-offs. It’ll be worth it in the long run

Thank you for the replies! I am fairly new to the world of the Tahoe but I am enjoying the experience so far. I took a picture of the only sticker I saw in the glove box. I don't know if this is the one you were talking about Fless:

I have a follow up question for you guys..Is it possible that the climate control switches are causing an issue with the actuators not working correctly? I am wondering because I got what I believe to be the correct part and the issue is still happening. So I removed the actuator and left it connected to the wiring. When I move the temperature control from hot to cold the actuator does not move. I disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes, reconnected it and then turned the key to the point before starting the vehicle. I left it sitting to see if the recalibration would do anything. It appeared to move a bit but then stopped. Still no movement when turning the temp controls. I thought maybe that control cluster is having issues. Before I order anything I thought I would reach out to you guys for your thoughts.

It is possible the control is the problem. It’s also possible the calibration didn’t work. You can usually find the controls on eBay- get the part # off the back of it and search for a used one. If you can find one cheap it’s worth trying.

I wanted to do a quick follow up more as an FYI than anything else. I got the OEM actuator and installed it with the same results as previously mentioned. I tried the recalibration many times with no noticeable difference. Ended up replacing the rear actuator and suddenly everything started to work again. Evidently that actuator was causing issues with the front two somehow. So now the zone and temperature actuators in the front and the temp / zones in the rear are all functioning normally. This has been quite the adventure but I am certainly glad it is working now. Figured I would let others know who might also be dealing with something like this. Thank you everyone for the help as I worked my way through the problems!

That’s odd. My rear had problems for years, I never really cared, just didn’t bother using it. It never caused any issues with the fronts. I had to calibrate the fronts and in fact replaced all of them over the years. Then I got around to replacing the rears last year. Everything is working now. I’m not saying that wasn’t your problem but IMO it’s unlikely. Good to hear it’s all working now though, that’s all that’s important.
