hi All, I blew the engine in my 99 SLE 4dr Yukon
I have had it just over 2 years, 126,000 miles.
based on the condition, it's totally worth fixing.
opinions on engines? I was thinking of buying a crate motor direct from GM, it's about $2400. other rebuilds are in the $1800 range. this in mainly a 2nd "pleasure vehicle" for me for camping, hauling a boat, DJ equipment, etc
once I get the engine fixed up, I want to put a lift and some larger tires on it.
is it worth all that on a 4 door??
opinions...???
BTW- one of the coolant hoses blew off and it over heated. I pulled the oil pan and there was some metal in it, so I really *don't* want to mess with head gaskets/head resurfacing. I priced all that out and I would really prefer a new-rebuilt motor as I am the 2nd owner and the original owner put a lot of customizations on it (vent visors, custom floor mats, roof rack, trailer package, etc)
