My truck is blowing the Radio amp fuse under the hood (see pic below). Of course I now get no sound from the radio as a result. If I pull the radio / head unit out, it still blows the Radio amp fuse. I'd thought my truck was the non-bose without a stand alone amp. And I don't have an amp under the console as the bose setups do. Is there another location besides under the console the amp could be in? I have the subwoofer in the back of the truck. Is there an amp back there? I haven't pulled that appart. Below are pictures with more details.

FYI ~ I'm having a bad day. Almost want to cry, made a huge novice mistake. I accidentally hooked up jumper cables backwards. The radio just happened to be on when it happened but everything else off. I checked all my circuits. It managed to blow up something in amp circuit. I can smell burnt plastic by driver footwell area :( I am rebuilding the radio system though but had hoped to use as much of the original equipment as possible. I'd already blown up part of the amp as I didn't realize my rear door speakers are 8 ohm and put in 4 ohm speakers. I blew up the rear channel in the amp. But the front and subs were still working for now. Now none of the channels work.

my advice would be to get yourself a 5 channel amp and a aftermarket deck, amp's will usually fit under the rear drivers side seat, the sub can be wired up also. end of problems.

I watched a handful of Youtube videos. One happened to show where the amp was, thank god. I pulled the connectors on it, put a fuse in and the fuse didn't blow. So it's definitely that amp.

The amp was located under the passenger dash side by the pillar for the door. I've got a Covette I bought with amps all over in it and big system. I never much liked having the amps even under the seats. I'm going to pull the factory amp on this Tahoe and see if I cannot get something that will fit in it's location.

Anybody have factory pinout for the amp on this setup?

Also does anybody know if the sub in this model truck has a separate amp?

I found this post, but it doesn't list a part number: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/need-oem-amp-wire-diagram-2000-yuk.39215/

I pulled the amp and googled. It's part number 15762536
