2001 Tahoe, 134k miles. I no longer drive it (just on snow stormy days), but just curious if anyone else has had blue smoke expelling out the exhaust? I suspect valve guide seals since I only noticed it after it had been sitting for a few days and only started it up to let my brother borrow it while his vehicle is getting fixed. I also replaced the PCV valve a few months back if that has any bearing on it or not. But that would explain the excessive oil consumption issues I have had with it (around 2.5 to 3 quarts in between oil changes). It also has the piston slap that lasts for quite awhile after startup.

if it goes away after a few min I would say valve stem seals, but if it's all the time I would lean towards rings, I know these engines seem to have their fair share of piston slap because the side skirts or so short.
