Where do you guys place your bluetooth mics on your trucks. I just bought a Kenwood KDC-X994 cause I did not want to cut my dash for a DD and my friend that has a flip has issues. I will be installing myself because the whole dash is out right now anyway(wiring up a few things). I am curious to know where you guys have placed your mics with the best results.

I have mine up above next to the center control unit. I think that's the best place IMPO. It will help with the wind noise if the window is open. Works great for me, I love it.

How did you route the wire up there? Around the pillar and through the headboard.

Mine is mounted up by the front windshield on the front of the overhead piece that houses the rear AC controls. The mic faces the driver. I have found it works good up there, semi hidden unless you look for it & doesnt get too much wind noise.

Do you guys have any pics of that location. I am thinking it would look great there but just want to get a general idea.

I will post one tonight when I get home. I didnt want it sitting near the door, they are noisy as hell already not did I want the person in the passenger seat screaming over me to talk into the mic. Middle seamed the most logical.

Your right does seem to make sense. I was kinda thinking about mouting it on top of the rear view. I think that would work well. What do you think?

you said you had your dash torn apart already? if so you should be able to rought the wire over towards the driver side A piller, if need be you can pull the gauge cluster out to help you. once you get it there you can do one of two things. try to pull that A piller cover off and then rought the wire up or try to tuck it behind it. once i got to the head liner i just pushed it (tucked it) between the head liner and the roof. mine has a little clip on it, once i got it there i just cliped it in place. i'll get some pics for you asap. haveing my truck shipped, should be here tomorrow.

Yeah thanks for the pics. I have the dash apart because I recently got an Esky guage cluster, denali center console, and a DIC put in all this week. I am waiting on my package tomorrow and will install after it is delivered.

I was wondering if the factory onstar mic could be used? I just have mine clipped on the visor.
