Looking to upgrade to Bluetooth with a newer VCIM on my05 Tahoe. Some research has you will lose on-star possibly, which is not a deal breaker but I would like to keep it if possible. I just want a clean set up and clear audio fully integrated through my radio. I have another car that does it now and I love it.

Can someone help me out here with part #'s for a replacement VCIM and Bluetooth antenna? Thanks

Not sure if the newer VCIM will work in an 05 but if it don't check out isimple connect, it has BT, USB, and streaming as long as you have a CAT or XM button or category. There's tons of info on the swap just not sure about year model

yes, I installed one in our 08 and on ours with nav-once you select the XM channel you turn the knob and the unit will switch between XM, USB, BT, Ipod, and a few more. Has the streaming profile for at least our iphones built in. The unit T's in to the radio and there is a mic and a switch you will need to run, then theres a USB plug in to mount and 1 set of AUX inputs included. I tried the VCIM swap but went back to the isimple due to OCD with vehicle mis match. Retains most steering wheel controls. I think we got the ISGM651. I put it in about a week ago and wife has not complained so I guess it's working ok.

So I did check out this isimple products and have attached a link below to a product I have chosen; its only $150 (note: Isimple does not sell to the emnd user so you have to purchase from a retailer. This seems to be meet the criteria I have and the autotoys.com site provides tech assistance along with a full length installation video. However, I think it will be an easy install. I will update once I get the kit and install it. Thanks for the advice and direction - I am eager to get it installed.

I got mine from either ebay or amazon, not sure about warranty with them and it had the latest firmware on it. The plus side is if you run into issues Autotoy will help. No sure about that model but wife likes our for streaming and ipod connections. our iphones connect right up. I have notices that when using regular XM it hunts for signal kind of often.

My XM seems to says updating more often than it use to, or could just be me. Anyway the device is pretty neat. It should give you multiple options

I bought an iSimple ISGM655 on Amazon for $104 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B54SJIK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It was so easy to install, once I wiggled the radio around to get enough harness slack so I could get the radio out far enough to unplug from the back. The harness was originally hung up and would come out enough to get my hand behind the radio. Once I figured that out, it was a breeze. This works really neat! fyi... the radio has to be an XM radio... iSimple now has a unit available that has the Bluetooth built in and not a separate box.

About what I payed. Have no real issues with it. Occasionally it'll mess up, but if you're not wanting to go aftermarket HU it's exceptable. I use Android, and it works through BT. Steering wheel controls the volume, and track F/B. I don't have XM, but I do have the OEM DVD player with the RSE, and I had no issues with having to go the dealer to have the HU set up to let it work....
