Just picked up my truck a couple weeks ago and I noticed this problem with it but still wanted it..the chrome strip in the pass. front bodyside/door moulding is discolored...it looks like water may have gotten behind the film and just tarnished the chrome..it sticks out to me because im a stickler. Some dont notice it though. I priced one from GM and its 176 bucks and has to be painted, but i went on rockauto.com and they have one for like 90 bucks in primer. Anyone else have this problem and take a different route?

+1 these trucks look much better without the molding and its in a bad spot to do anything to stop door dings anyway.

Just remove them.

1.Heat with a blowdriver
2.Use dental floss
3.Use a 3m wheel to remove all excess "gunk" left behind

-Your done

Another one for just removing the moulding

Remove them. Your going to have to repaint the moldings if you want to keep them. GM moldings ant worth a damn they all tend fade. I work at a GM body shop and we have to paint them moldings all the time.

Never thought of that. My only issue witht he truck being the gm rapant pewter color..and not a cool color like black, silver or even red..no offense to anyone...it may look like a base model truck. But its still something to consider..and i just may do that!

There are alot of those color ones on here without the molding. Mine is an LT and I took off my LT stickers (sig pic post molding not post lt stickers) emblems and moulding and it looks so much cleaner. You will be happy with it. Trust me.
