I am having a problem with my 99 tahoe. It idles fine but when i go to hit the gas from a stop it tends to start to bog down like it is starving for fuel. Once i start going though it doesnt do it anymore. Also if i punch it from a stop it doesnt bog down at all either. what do you think could be the problem. Fuel Filter clogged? The truck has 139,000 miles on it. Just 3 months ago i replaced the spark plugs with the AC Delco plugs and put a new air filter, and also changed the oil/filter. The one thing i didnt do was change the plug wires or the cap and rotor. There is NO Check Engine light on either.

Thanks For the help.

a goofy TPS, fuel regulator, sticking egr/plugged passages or injectors. clogged fuel filter should not act like that or else you could not punch it without it stalling really bad.

so i havent been on sincei posted this problem. the next day the truck ran fine and then thursday it started sputtering again once i started to drive. this morning it was sputtering even worse than it has been. my question is it a fuel pump issue? what is a tps? where is the fuel regulator located and same with the egr valve. thanks

TPS equals Throttle Position Sensor.

egr is round cylindrical device point up/forward at angle at front of the lower aluminum intake manifold next to the thermostat housing.

the fuel regulator is on the side of the injector body and is accessible only if the plenum is removed. A reg would cost$70 for one from local store where an entire new design spider with new reg would cost $230 from amazon.

At this point I suggest you borrow a fuel pressure testing kit from autozone and run some pressure tests. I can get you the charts when you are ready. If you video it it is even better.
