bolt thread pitch charts and such

When you got into sears/lowes/ or any other hardware store, they have those charts hanging on the wall you can screw your bolt into and it tells you the exact bolt that is. say 12mm bolt or 1/2' diameter bolt with such and such threads. Do they sell those charts or anyone know how to go exactly about making on? i dont want to spend 50 bucks on bolts, but id like to have one of those handy. Dont want any stripped threads :)

Yeah they look like a rectangular plastic cards or phamplets. "bolt thread chart" on amazon far a few then click on one scroll down and all kinds of similars start showing. Also sold in the toll section of homedepot. The pitch tools are like feeler gauge pull outs.

pretty sure i have seen the flip out ones at the parts stores. also think theres a set in the cheap tap and die set i picked up from menards for like $20.
