Hey guys,

Quick Question... What is the size of the Bose speakers in a 2000 caddy. Im getting mixed sizes from local audio shop, crutchfield, and bose tech support. Im not really sure what they are and from the answers im getting from support they dont know either... I know I can just go out and rip the door off and check, but i dont wanna ruin the panel clips until im ready to redo the speakers. What do you yall know about the bose system?

Thanks for the help guys,
Nick Yansky

Approximately 5" I believe but the doors can take 5-1/4" setups without issues in the doors. The rear roof ones if installed are 4x10.

The rear roofs arent 4x10s. They are a 3.5 inch round speaker. Ive taken off the "ceiling tile" in the rear and they are not 4x10s.

Really? I don't think anyone has ever seen those back there before. I should remove my ceiling tile to see mine. Never touched them before back there.

Yeah they are a weird size in the roofs of those caddy's, When I was in the junkyard the other day I took a look and they looked about 3.5s. Seemed rather pointless if you asked me

Yeah it was an odd size. Im deleting them from the stereo. The caddy will be decked out with Focal in march. Anyone know if there is any interest in the Bose system that ill be taking out of the car? Everything works perfectly! Just not what I want... Let me know if there is interest in it if ya dont mind guys.

To add... They have a custom mounting plate that the 3.5 inch speakers are housed in.

Yeah it is. 1999-2000 OBS. 2001 escalades weren't produced due to Cadillac wanting to refine and remake the escalade. Only reason for the 99-00 ladies was to compete with the navigator from ford.

Well then you can still use that bose sub in that console just have to get a 1 ohm STABLE
class D amp the sub is 1.4 ohms just cut the sub wires going to the bose amp and run it to
the new amp i'm using a mtx th350-1d amp 350 watts rms @ 1 ohm on my sub more than
enough to push this little wonder of a sub.
I put one of these subs in my work van AWSOME sound. also take the fuse out that powers
the bose amp

Bose system consists of the amplifier in the center console
subwoofer in the center console
5 1/4 in front doors
5 1/4 in rear doors
3.5 in rear headliner

the front doors have plastic adapter to fit the smaller speakers, you can just remove the adapter and fit 6.5in in the front doors like the regular yukons and tahoes, 6.5 sounds much better anyways

There is no tweeter spot in the front doors, you would have to cut your own hole if you went with a component system

The rear doors will only fit 5 1/4 speakers. You can't access them from pulling the whole panel though, just the speaker grill comes off which makes it much easier anyways.

The rear headiner has the hole cut for the goofy 4 x 10 speakers but has a metal adapter plate to fit the 3.5 speakers. You can easily modify the metal adapter plate to fit 4x6 or 4 round or if you really wanted to you could find some 4x10s

If you are going to use the factory speaker wiring and an aftermarket amp to power the door speakers beware that most of the diagrams I have seen are backwards on the polarity of the speakers.
