Both keyless entry remotes stopped working

It seems now is the time to deal with some electrical issues in my 04 Yukon Denali. A Few days ago my remote for keyless entry stopped working. I assumed it was a dead battery. Today I tried the other remote I replaced the battery in a few months ago and it doesn't work either. I doubt they both died at the same time. I tried reprogramming them (hold unlock on door, key on key off twice, release unluck on door and hold lock and unlock buttons on remote). I'm not sure it would enter the programming though because the door locks would cycle and the horn beeped after the first key on key off, the locks cycled again after the second key on key off. Anyone else had a similar problem.

the key less remotes work off your passenger side door module AKA window switches. Does everything work on the passenger door?

Didn't try them. The remotes started working again but sometimes I have to press the lock or unlock button a few times. The buttons feel funny so it may be time for a new remote
