Both rear power windows inop with local switch

So for the last year I have DD'd my 08 tahoe and no longer have to deal with the kids in the back etc... was cleaning today and noticed that both rear power windows do not work with their local switches in the back. Work perfectly fine from the driver door.

Did not see any fuses or relays that say windows, no other electrical things seem to be affected.

Anyone run into this before? It has probably been 9 months since the rear windows have ever been rolled down so do not have any prior symptoms of slow or delayed up/down. It really is not a huge issue, just want to add some parts to my list if necessary, would hate to know its a motor issue and I end up with a window stuck down. Thanks.

Not uncommon. If they have not been cycled lately, chances are there is some oxidation built up on the contacts. I have read where folks here have taken them apart and cleaned the contacts and were back in business.

Check and make sure you haven't inadvertently pressed the rear window lock switch on the drivers door armrest

will check out the switch contacts.. sounds like my situation. will check, clean, and report back

window lockout switch is not the issue. checked that first. even cycled it a few times to make sure that there was not any weird gremlins.

Easy to check with a probe for power at the switch. You can even use a jumper wire bypassing the switch to see if the motors run.

About a year ago my daughter tried to roll one of the back windows up and she couldn't from the switch on the door. I was able to from the drivers door. I ended up pulling that switch out, separating the housing with a small screwdriver (there's a tab securing it together) and sprayed some contact cleaner in there. Has worked fine since.

The rear switches are real easy to remove from the armrest.
