Bought an 07 escalade...confused about audio jacks +dvd

So I bought a 2007 escalade with NO factory options. My guess is that these are quite rare. It was a former rental and lease to a construction company that went bankrupt.

I have a couple questions about the audio and DVD.

I dont have sat nav but there is a dvd slot in my radio. What is this used for?

Also, there are two headphone jacks in the back center console where passengers control their temperature. Are these input jacks only or are they output only or both?

The DVD slot is for the rear entertainment. The audio jacks are for output only, but you can use the red/white/and yellow plugs for input to the rear or whole audio system.

I dont have a rear seat dvd system! And I dont have the RCA jack either for the center console

There aren't any RCA jacks below the 2nd row climate controls??


If not, you will have to buy an iPod kit, which can be either an FM transmitter or one that you hook up to the factory harness. It displays your song info on the radio and allows you to use the steering wheel for controls, if you have those buttons.

So what does the dvd player do? Can I burn mp3s onto a dvd and play it through the sound system?

Yes, you can burn an MP3 DVD, those work well.
